Chromic oxide (Cr2O3) is an important chemical compound and finds wide utilizations in many fields. The Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences proposed a new cleaner production process of Cr2O3 which enables a shorter and cleaner production route from chromite ore, to potassium chromate, to Cr(Ⅲ) compounds, and finally to Cr2O3.
