近代上海是作为一个港口城市存在的,城市与港口关系的紧密程度毋庸置疑。从城市意象理论的角度来分析,则可以发现上海港与城市互动关系的另一方面。作为上海城市发展过程中的关键因素,上海港以主导元素的身份,同时承担了城市意象五元素中道路、边界、区域、节点和标志物的角色;通过社会精英分子对上海港意象的界定,尽管港口逐渐与城市生活的直接联系不断减少,但在非空间意象上,港口逐渐成为上海城市的代表和标志物。这也在更大的意义上印证了上海港口与城市发展二者相互促进与影响的关系。
In modern times, Shanghai existed as a port city. There is no doubt about the close relationship between the city and the port. From the perspective of urban imagery theory, we can find another aspect of the interaction between Shanghai Port and the city. As a key factor in the process of Shanghai’s urban development, Shanghai Port assumes the dominant role in the image of Shanghai. At the same time, Shanghai Port assumes the role of roads, borders, regions, nodes and landmarks in the five elements of urban image. Through the definition of the port of Shanghai by social elites, In spite of the fact that the direct linkages between the port and urban life are gradually decreasing, the port gradually becomes the representative and symbol of the city of Shanghai in the non-spatial image. This also confirms the relationship between the mutual promotion and influence of Shanghai Port and urban development in a larger sense.
