Death Associated Protein Kinase 1 (DAPK) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in the regulation of multiple cellular events such as apoptosis, autophagy and proliferation. In cancer, DAPK has been identified as a tumour suppressor, whose expression was lost in many cancer types due to DNA methylation.Protein degradation is critical for controlling DAPK level and it has been found that DAPK is degraded through both ubiquitin-proteasomal and lysosomal degradation pathways.
