Objective: To compare the efficacy, toxicity, and quality of life of docetaxel and cisplatin (TP) and gemcitane and cisplatin(GP) induction chemotherapy followed by concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) in predominantly WHO Ⅱlocoregionally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC)patients from northwest China.Methods: From August 2009 to May 2011, 120 NPC (StagesⅢ and Ⅳ) patients were randomly assigned to receive either TP or GP induction chemotherapy.Both groups received cisplatinbased concurrent intensity-modulated radiotherapy.
