Li4SnS4,with a thiostarnate-LISICON structure, which is very similar to the thio-LISICON parent system Li4GeS4,is reported to have shown a promising Li+ ion conductivity of 7 × 10-5 S·cm-1 at 20 ℃ and 1.39 mS.cm-1 at 25℃ after aliovalent substitution by As(Li3.833Sn0.833As0.166S4).[1-5] Herein,Li4SnS4 glass-ceramics was successfully prepared by a simply two-step method,a first process of ball milling and then a process of low temperature heat treatment. After an initial 60h ball milling of tin, sulfur and lithium sulfide,a glass state lithium tin sulfide(marked as LTSA60R)was obtained according to XRD analysis, which possesses a low ionic conductivity of 5.66* 10-9 S/cm.Heat treatment including a series of temperature was utilized ranging from 125℃ to 500℃ which is helpful to nucleation and crystallization. Finally,a well crystallized Li4SnS4 glass-ceramics was formed at a temperature of 400 ℃ for 30h and it achieved a higher conductivity of 1.88 10-8 S/cm at 25 ℃.More experiments are carried out to increase its ionic conductivity and to build a highly rechargeable solid electrolyte Li-S battery.
