Objective To explore the effects of recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) on bronchial pulmonary dysplasia in newborn rats with intrauterine infection.Methods16 of 20-days gestational age rats were randomly divided into control group (group A), intrauterine infection group (group B), intrauterine infection + prenatal rhEPO treatment group (group C) and intrauterine infection + postnatal rhEPO treatment group (group D).The pregnant rats in 20, 21d for two consecutive days were intraperitoneal injection normal saline (group A) and lipopolysaccharide LPS (group B, group D), LPS + rhEPO (group C).Neonatal rats at postnatal day 0 (P0) and P3 were peritoneal injection normal saline (group A, B, C),rhEPO (group D).Comparison between groups with the newborn rat P1, P7, P14 weight, lung weight and lung weight/body weight, lung tissue paraffin embedding and section, HE stain, radial alveolar count (RAC), the average optical density (IOD/area)to compare the NF-kB P65 immunohistochemical results.
