Human adenovirus (HAdV) was identified as an etiologic agent in Taiwan.Outbreaks of HAdVs associated diseases (e.g., gastroenteritis, keratoconjunctivitis, and respiratory infection) in Taiwan have also been reported almost every year.The HAdVs could be introduced into water environments frequently via different routes including municipal sewage and several HAdVs have been found in spas, hot tubs, and public bath in Taiwan area.
