To investigate the feasibility of ion-exchange process to prepare ammonium rnolybdate in alkaline environment, the adsorption and desorption behavior of sodium molybdate solution, prepared by soda-sintering and water-leaching procedure, onto one strongly alkaline CO32-style resin, and the behaviors of the impurities, namely P, Si, As,and V, in ion-exchange process were studied.The results show that the best adsorption effect is on the condition that the concentration of Mo is 8~10g/L, and the best desorption effect can be achieved by using the desorption agent as NH4HCO3 with a concentration of 2mol/L.Meanwhile, the best way for the influent during both adsorption and desorption process is from top to bottom, and the optimal contact time for both processes is 40 min.
