Laser industrial application is a very broad and dynamic field of production engineering.A lot of new opportunities for material processing had been discovered thanks to finding many unique effects in material and especially in metal materials due to interaction of laser radiation with substance.Starting from the very beginning of 'laser era" at the end of 50th and beginning of 60th of the last century it had been noticed that at the action of the focused laser beam on different metals the piercing of micro holes may be observed followed by formation of small heat affected zone (HAZ) on the hole's wall.Depending on the radiation intensity and properties of irradiated material the changes in dimensions of HAZ, its hardness, microstructure, different elements concentration, etc.had been found thus paving the way to further development of surface modification of materials-local, surface alloying, surface coating, welding, cladding, etc.The ability to highly localize zone of material melting and provide strong bonding of molten and matrix materials had brought to life the possibilities to repair the worn off or broken components and finally to 3D laser additive processing.Further combination of mentioned processing with IT achievements has brought the success to such a new result in production engineering as Laser Remanufacturing. The evolution of laser processing on this stage is not ending-further more exciting developments are expected.
