This paper aims to explore the relationships of government policy, partnership, innovation strategy, and performance in the technological firms of the science parks.We incorporate the theories of technological innovation, corporate alliance, marketing, and technological policy into the research framework.Collaborative innovation and in-house innovation have been regarded as the two predominant R&D strategies adopted by most technological companies.The cluster effect of Science Park plays a critical role in providing tenant companies with administrative supports as well as plenty of opportunities for inter-firm partnership establishment.However, the relationship between Science Park, technological firms strategic preference and performance still remains unclear in the existing literature.Through examining a sample of 206 technological firms in Taiwan Science Parks, including the Hsinchu Science Park, the Southern Taiwan Science Park and the Central Taiwan Science Park, this paper sheds light on how a technological firrns strategic preference and the subsequent performance outcomes are determined by its industrial partnership and government policy.Findings indicate that a technological firms industrial partnership and government policy both positively affect firm performance through influencing firms innovation strategy.
