Trace elements are defined as those with low concentrations in plant tissues (lower than 0.1%).They are essential for plant growth, crop yield, food quality and therefore human health.Previous studies have identified multiple genes controlling natural variation in some trace element contents in Arabidopsis thaliana, such as Fe,Mo and Cd.However, the genetic and molecular basis underlying natural variation in As and Se has not been revealed.
