1 Geological Background The research area is located in the southwestern margin of the Alashan Block of the North China Plate (Xu et al., 2006). The geotectonic location is the continental arc fold belt of the Late Pleistocene in the Yabra-Bayanonogo south of the Badain Jaran fault (Wang et al. , 1993). The exposed strata in the area are relatively simple and consist of Paleoproterozoic, Carboniferous, Permian, Middle Jurassic, Lower Cretaceous and Quaternary. The regional tectonic setting is complicated. The deep fault belt of the Li-Li-Ya-Buri region passes through the central part of the work area. This fault was already large in the early Caledonian area. The middle and late Hercynian activities were intense with large
