The southern root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) causes severe damages to a great number of vegetables, especially in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. The use of nematicides is restricted due to environmental and toxicological risks and a control of the pest by crop rotation is difficult, because Meloidogyne incognita has a very wide range of host plants.Aim of the project is to prove,if rapeseed can be converted from a tolerant host of root-knot nematode to a resistant catch crop.
