高放废物地质处置容器的腐蚀演化行为与缓冲材料膨润土的结构和性质密切相关.本文通过模拟地下水环境,采用电化学方法研究了膨润土沉降对候选材料NiCu低合金钢腐蚀行为的影响.研究结果表明:在膨润土沉积条件下,NiCu钢长期的腐蚀电位明显低于无膨润土沉积时的电极电位,且电荷转移电阻Rct较高,腐蚀速度显著降低.这主要与膨润土层对腐蚀产物的运输起到一定的阻挡作用有关.同时膨润土层还能有效阻碍溶解氧向电极表面的扩散,使氧还原反应速率下降,NiCu钢腐蚀速率降低.腐蚀形貌显示,有膨润土沉积的电极表面呈墨绿色,生成的腐蚀产物层均匀且较薄.而无膨润土沉积的电极表面呈红棕色,腐蚀产物层较厚,且局部出现明显的点蚀现象.这是因为阳极溶解生成的Fe2+不断向膨润土层中迁移,腐蚀产物难以在电极表面累积增厚.在无膨润土沉积条件下,溶解氧和侵蚀性Cl-的协同作用可促进NiCu钢发生局部腐蚀.
