Objective:To investigate the effects of ulinastatin and Prednisolone on respiratory function after cardiopulmonary bypass.Methods:60 patients with valve disease undergoing elective heart surgery under CPB were randomly divided into 2 groups (n =30 each); group U (ulinastatin 10000U/kg; group Prednisolone (Prednisolone 250rag) in priming solution before CPB.Blood samples were taken before CPB and after termination of the operation for determination of respiratoty index (RI) and CPR.Results:RI after termination of the operation was higher statistically than that is before CPB.CPR is lower after CPB than that is before CPB.Conclusion:Ulinastation has protective effect on respiratory function with CPB.
