Current technology developments will devise future methods for fast and cost-efficient analyses of large parts of,and ultimately total genomes.Given sufficiently efficient procedures it might be possible to detect changes of DNA sequence that predispose to disease or to desirable functions in domestic animals or plants.New approaches for re-sequencing and genotyping of DNA that replace present methods will also be important in routine healthcare and environmental monitoring.In this presentation I will present novel concepts and methods for the amplification and detection of DNA sequence variations.
