This study is focused on the relation between personalizing the physical working environment and the job satisfaction,intrinsic motivation and creativity of the employees.Several Swedish companies that have offices in Shanghai participated in this research.Their human resource managers agreed to distribute the specially designed questionnaire for the purpose of this study.It investigates the extent to which the office workers are personalizing their workplace and the effect on their attitude towards their job.An indepth literature review suggested that there is a significant possibility that such an enhancement could lead to numerous positive outcomes.A hundred and eleven(111)people participated in the study,but the number of the valid data entries is eighty eight(88).The empirical data has been analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences,also known as SPSS.Descriptive analysis,correlation analysis and a regression analysis were used to decipher the data in order to confirm or deny each of the four hypotheses.The results show that the personalization of the physical work environment indeed has a positive correlation with the job satisfaction and the creativity.However,there is no significant relationship between the personalization and the intrinsic motivation,but there is a possibility that the data sample is not flawless and a further research that tests not only the intrinsic,but also extrinsic motivation would provide an even more accurate additional insight on the topic.
