The teaching of Chinese in Chile has developed rapidly in recent years.After referring to the research results of previous scholars and related overseas Chinese teaching theories,the author combines his own teaching practice for one year to investigate and analyze the motivation of Chinese students in Chile.The survey mainly uses questionnaires and personal interviews.The questionnaires are based on motivational items,personality factors,students’ classroom experience,and academic performance to understand the degree of motivation of students.Personal interviews are based on Chinese language factors and confusion during study.The teacher factors,performance factors,and learning objectives are used to understand the reasons for the primary school students to withdraw from the Chinese class,to determine the strength of the students’ motivation and the reasons.Finally,some suggestions for the motivation of primary school students’ Chinese learning are put forward This paper is divided into:The introduction part,which mainly introduces the background of the topic,the reasons for the topic selection,and the research methods and significance.Under the guidance of relevant learning motivation research theories,the author conducted a survey by using questionnaire survey,personal interview method and literature query method,hoping to find out the reasons for students’ weak motivation to help students improve their interest in Chinese learning.Promote the smooth progress of Chinese teaching.The first chapter is an overview of the research on Chinese teaching in Chile.The second chapter is the current situation of Chinese teaching in Sergio Martin Alamos Primary School,including the introduction of school teaching,Chinese learning of primary school students,and test results.The third chapter is the investigation and analysis of the motivation of primary school students’ Chinese learning.This chapter consists of two parts:questionnaire survey and personal interview.The questionnaire survey includes:the survey object the motivation of the study and the motivation theory of the survey,the survey form,the composition of the questionnaire,the questionnaire analysis,Other factors affecting Chinese learning motivation-personality factors,students1 experience in Chinese classes,and academic achievement factors.The personal interview section interviewed four students who were selected.The fourth chapter is a phased Chinese proficiency test for students in the Chinese class,including mid-term and post-test.Mainly to test the level of Chinese learning of students at different stages of learning.The fifth chapter is about the enlightenment strategy of Chilean primary school students’ motivation for learming Chinese.It puts forward some feasible strategies and suggestions from the aspects of teaching,students and family.The last chapter is the conclusion,summarizing the conclusions of this study and the shortcomings in the research.
