During the long-term Japanese language learning, the author found that a large part of the Japanese pronunciation of Chinese characters are very similar with the Meixian Hakka dialectpronunciation of the same, while relatively large different from Mandarin pronunciation. So based on the research of “preliminary study on the relationship between Chinese characters in Japanese language and pronunciation in Hakka dialect “(Xie Yuxin), combined with the initials and finals, the author researched deeply on the corresponding relationship between the pronunciation of Chinese characters in Japanese language and that in Meixian Hakka dialect, and found that not only in the finals but also in the initial consonants, there are a large number of Chinese characters’ pronunciation in Japanese language are similar with that in the Meixian Hakka dialect. Some corresponding relations and rules between them are found.By investigatingtwo languages from historical background, the author speculated that the corresponding relationship between these two is not accidental, but the result of both retaining the ancient Chinesecharacters residual phonology. For further confirmation, it needs further and deeper archaeological investigation and verification.
