美国自1964年开始设立并由总统颁发高中毕业生国家最高荣誉大奖之一的“总统奖”已有50年,每年大约有140名高中毕业生获得该奖项。该奖项的男女学生每州各1名,另有15名的不定名额和20名的艺术特长生。除了艺术特长生,每个州的获奖者都是大学入学考试成绩在全州前30名,并拥有学生特征、领导才能、社区服务活动以及小论文的分析等诸项条件。这样的获奖者被称之为美国的“高考状元”。
It has been 50 years since the United States set up the “President’s Award”, one of the highest-ranking national high school graduates awarded by the president since 1964, and has received about 140 high school graduates each year. The awards include one male and one female student per state, another 15 unskilled places and 20 art students. In addition to art specialties, each state’s winners are university-based entrance exams in the top 30 in the state and include student characteristics, leadership skills, community service activities, and analysis of essays. Such winners are called the United States “entrance exam champion ”.
