Really “objective ” to restore the original history, is not easy. Even modern events that are not far away from nowhere can be overwhelmed by the passage of time. Coupled with the complicated factors such as ideology, even past decades ago will be deliberately or unconsciously obscured. But the charm of scholarship is precisely to open the fog of history, to find out the truth. This publication focuses on the research results of modern Chinese art. Issue 2 of 2010, the journal publishes an article by Chinese-American scholar Zhang Shaoshu, “Chinese Paintings into the United States: Zhang Shu and his Art Diplomacy,” which reveals more than half a century of art exchange between China and foreign countries. Two articles published in this issue are still focused on Zhang Shu, of which the details of history and the analysis based on it are of great value.
