Objective To analyze the status of sleep and related factors in community diabetic patients. Methods A total of 76 patients with diabetes admitted to community health centers from January 2012 to December 2014 were selected for physical examination, questionnaire and laboratory tests. The patients were assessed by Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) Sleep quality. Results Among the 76 patients, 30 had poor sleep quality (39.5%). PSQI scores of patients with community diabetes and scores of hypnotic drugs, sleep disorders, sleep efficiency, sleep time, sleep quality and other scores were significantly higher than the domestic norm (P <0.05). According to the multivariate Logistic regression analysis, cardiovascular disease, BMI index and annual family income per capita were the main factors influencing sleep status in community diabetic patients. There was a significant correlation between per capita income of retirees and family and sleep quality of patients. Conclusion Generally speaking, the quality of sleep in community patients with diabetes is relatively poor, mainly related to in-service, low family income, and cardiovascular diseases.
