受中国光学学会委托,以中山大学为主要筹备单位,并由中国科学院上海光机所、物理所、西安光机所、复旦大学和天津大学等组成的会议筹备组,组织筹备的第一届全国超快现象学术讨论会于1988年1月19～22日在广州市举行.来自全国130多位专家、学者围绕超快现象研究进行了广泛的学术交流.中国科学院技术科学部主任、中国光学学会理事长王大珩教授亲自主持了会议的开幕式,并致开幕词.
