Stroke ischemic stroke is the most common, cerebral vascular obstruction, leading to brain tissue damage and subsequent neurological dysfunction is the main reason for its occurrence. Stroke is one of the major causes of human disability or even death, which seriously threatens human health. However, its treatment is still a difficult problem. In order to study the pathogenesis of stroke and to better prevent and treat stroke, it is of crucial importance to establish a suitable animal model. However, with the renewal of science and technology, the limitations of the traditional cerebral ischemia model have become increasingly prominent. Many new models of cerebral ischemia, such as in situ injection of thrombin, have emerged as the topical application of the FeCl_3 model. In this paper, the current application of the animal model of cerebral ischemia, advantages and disadvantages are reviewed.
