General practice has been the cornerstone of Australia’s health system, with almost all Australians seeing at least one general practitioner a year. This article attempts to outline the main changes that have taken place in the complexity of the Australian GPs, GPs, and the complexity of the patient’s illness during the 1990-2015 period.
