Do you remember the sanatorium called “Ami-lao” in Kyoto, the main character of the Norwegian Wood? A lot of people are far away from the bustling life of the isolated peach blossom, story. It is there, Watanabe Toru met Reiko. This is the prototype of a large-scale forest sanatorium in Japan. In 2001, Japan formulated the certification system of forest health care bases and the qualification examination system of forest convalescent teachers to ensure the healthy development of nursing homes. At present, the number of bases in Japan identified by the non-profit NPO corporations as “Association of Forest Health Care Base” has reached 62 and is distributed throughout the country.
