The joints of cement concrete pavements, especially the stretch seams, are the weak points of concrete pavement damage. Therefore, it is generally considered that reducing the number of seams is advantageous for improving the service quality and prolonging the service life of roads. To this end, the provincial highway construction department of the concrete pavement stretch seam set issue as a research project, from 1972 to date carried out a long-term tests and theoretical research, and gradually in the practice of the stretch gap from The commonly used 20 meters or so extended to more than 1,000 meters, changing the practice of transmission. Practice has proved that extending the gap between the pitch in the road to improve the quality of use, to simplify the construction process and reduce costs have achieved good results. This paper summarizes the experimental research results of the project, focusing on the theoretical analysis shows that after the extension of the stretch gap, the concrete pavement slab due to expansion stress is far less than the allowable pressure of the material
