Japan’s Hitachi has recently succeeded in developing MP1100, a printed circuit board inspection system that can detect fine patterns such as breakage, short circuit, open circuit, and defect in printed circuit boards with high accuracy and accuracy, and is on the market. This device uses the fluorescence generated in the raw material of the printed board. Since this fluorescence is not affected by changes in the shape of the surface of the substrate (contamination, discoloration, scratches, etc.), a pattern defect of a minimum of 10 μm can be detected. Compared with the previous devices that use the reflected light detection, the defect detection rate is 100% and the error resolution ratio is one tenth, which greatly improves the reliability.
