In the past, the authors proposed that some bacteria can produce carcinogens or synergistic carcinogens from cholic acid, which may be related to the cause of colon cancer. The survey included 44 patients with colorectal cancer (19 colon cancers, 25 rectal cancers) and 90 other disorders (50 upper intestinal disorders, 12 non-malignant colorectal diseases, and 28 non-gastrointestinal disorders). After admission, the first fecal sample was taken for examination of fecal choline (FBA) and nuclear dehydrogenas (NDC).
