哀吊死者的文章,中外古今,屡有佳作。我国古代,有鲁哀公为孔子作的诔,那“茕茕余在疚”的喟叹,缠绵而凄怆;有贾谊的《吊屈原赋》,拿屈原的遭遇自喻,调急音促,感情激越;有韩愈的《祭十二郎文》,由叔侄的情意写到骨肉的分离,字字凄楚。现代文坛上巴金的《悼范兄》,冯至的《朱自清先生》,徐迟的《祭马思聪文》,鲁迅的《为了忘却的记念》,均不失为感情炽热、含义深刻的佳作。外国文坛上萧伯纳的《贝多芬百年祭》,立意明确,气势豪健,发前人所未见,颇有见地;而恩格斯《在马克思墓前的讲话》,更是旗帜鲜明、胎炙人口的名篇。
