Describes an efficient CO2 laser operating at 10.6 μm using an inductive energy storage generator and a semiconductor transfer switch. The experimental data and theoretical results of the second harmonic oscillation of laser pumped nonlinear crystals GaSe and GaSe0.7S0.3 are given. The results show that the maximum energy conversion efficiency of GaSe crystal is 0.38% when the input power is 180mJ, and the peak power of double frequency laser is 8kW.
