作为展示国家形象的一个重要举措,美国参与世博会的相关活动是其国家公共外交战略的一个不可忽视的组成部分,也是我们全面了解其公共外交的战略目标、模式和影响力的重要途径。本文从美国参与世博会的历史出发,对美国当前历史阶段参与世博会的战略目标、实施模式以及影响力进行全方位的考察,同时还通过研究美国参与上海世博会的案例,具体分析它为本次成功参展所作出的有针对性的调整,以及所采取的富有成效的措施。在历史研究和逻辑分析的基础上,本文试图对美国参与世博会所折射出的公共外交状况进行整体性的把握,并对美国未来参与世博会的行为作出相应的预测。
As an important measure to display the country’s image, the United States’ participation in activities related to the World Expo is an indispensable part of its national public diplomacy strategy, and it is also an important way for us to fully understand the strategic goals, modes, and influence of its public diplomacy. Based on the history of the United States participating in the World Expo, this article conducts an all-round inspection of the strategic goals, modes of implementation, and influence of the United States participation in the Expo at the current historical stage. At the same time, it also analyzes the United States’ participation in the Shanghai World Expo and specifically analyzes it as a successful exhibitor. The targeted adjustments made and the effective measures taken. On the basis of historical research and logical analysis, this article attempts to make a holistic grasp of the public diplomacy that the United States has exhibited at the World Expo, and makes corresponding predictions about the United States’ future participation in the World Expo.
