唐三彩实际上是唐代彩色釉陶的总称,“三”在古汉语中又有“多”之意。这些陶塑属唐代制品,又因色彩丰富,有翠绿、浅绿、蓝、黄、褐、白等多种色彩,故其称作“唐三彩”。也有观点认为早期出土的彩釉雕塑多呈红、绿、白三色,而有“三彩”之名。建国以来,唐三彩之名长期沿用至今,专业研究者则多以“唐彩色釉陶”之名称呼。唐三彩在唐代的盛行并予以大量制作有其深刻的历史背景和现实意义。唐朝
