本文论述了陈寅恪在历史考据中所运用之一种方法──对音勘同译名还原法。此种方法之运用是以对中外史料的整体把握并精通20多门外语为前提的。陈寅恪将西方历史语言考据学派之方法与乾嘉学派之考据方法完美地结合，以其卓越的史识，从中外文化交流的大背景中，对佛典、塞外之史、殊族之文进行考据并进而阐释，■■出中外文化交流之轨迹与历史融合之进程。
