Launched on February 3, 2015, the world’s first all-electric commercial communications satellite ABS-3A finally arrived at a scheduled orbit at 3 degrees west long after a long journey of more than seven months. It was launched on the Falcon 9 rocket along with 115 Euros B of the European telecommunications satellite, the all-electric commercial satellite. As a large satellite carrying 24 C and 24 Ku transponders, the all-electric propulsion technology has a launch weight of only 1950 kg, less than half the size of its predecessor.
