宇宙尘颗粒微小,矿物组成和化学成分与陨石类似,属地外来物,其研究被包括在宇宙地质学的范畴内。研究宇宙尘不仅对天体演化,而且对地球地成、壳幔演化、地层、岩石及矿产的形成机理等均具有重要的理论意义。国内外宇宙尘的发现及其研究 1876年J·缪雷(Murray)在深海软泥中首次发现宇宙尘,以后国外在不同的岩层中也相继有了零星报道。本世纪60年代初期,国际上有关宇宙尘的研究就已积累了丰富的资料。
