The New Sensation School emerged in the 1930s. It is a very influential genre of novels in the history of modern Chinese literature. Its main representative is Liu Naou, Mu Shiying, Shi Zhecun and Ye Lingfeng. They are deeply influenced by the modernist literature in Europe and Japan. They are not satisfied with the traditional novel focusing on the description of the outside world. They shift the focus of creation from the outside world to the inner world of characters. The neo-sensationalism can be described as the genre of modern Chinese novels It learns in many aspects and draws lessons from Western modernist literary skills in an effort to combine the subjective impressions with the objective reality organically. This gives their novels a unique charm. From this we can also see that the literary level of China in the 1930s was not low, only because of historical reasons that interrupted the process.
