Objective To investigate the relationship between platelet count changes and disease status and prognosis in patients with acute pancreatitis (AP). Methods The clinical data of 105 patients with acute pancreatitis were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into SIRS group and non-SIRS group according to the SIRS criteria. The platelet count, multiple organ dysfunction syndrome MODS) incidence, mortality. Results The platelet count of SIRS group was significantly lower than that of non-SIRS group (P <0.01). Conclusion Platelet count can accurately reflect the condition and prognosis of critically ill patients, which is of great value in predicting AP complicated with MODS.
