王锺陵的《20世纪中西文论史》是为中西文论作世纪性总结的巨作,将哲学思辨与文学史观照熔为一炉。作者对西方各家文论注重全景式的理论把握,从其整体的哲学或学术体系出发,抉剔文论所有的逻辑理路和蕴含的思想内核,并以自身原创的理论建树展现了中西对话的姿态和精神。中国文论部分则以文体史和文体论为中心,特点是众体皆备,史论浑融。作者以文体的本体论建构为原点,进而在文体流变的生动过程中破解其发展的内在动力结构,既赋予了文体史以较高的理论品位,又使文体论获得了鲜活的世间相。该著对新文艺理论体系提出的构想所具有的主要经验和启示是:国际视野、哲学精神、现实关切和原创意识,以开放的态势突破“社会政治学”模式,迎接新的思想世界和文艺世界的到来。
Wang Zhongling’s “History of Chinese and Western Literary Theses of the 20th Century” is a masterpiece that summarizes the history of Chinese and Western literary theory in a century, melting both philosophical thinking and literary history.
