武山铜矿北矿带(以下简称武山铜矿)矿石平均含硫量为26.5%,属于高硫矿床,具有自燃发火倾向。矿石类型有含铜黄铁矿、含铜高岭土、含铜角砾岩等,矿物成分有黄铁矿、白铁矿、黄铜矿、辉铜矿、斑铜矿、闪锌矿、方铅矿、磁黄铁矿等。矿床氧化作用很深,淋滤作用剧烈,具有明显的垂直分带——氧化带、次生带和原生带。最大氧化深度至—300米以下。大部分矿石为粉末状、松散状,少部分为块状。采用分层崩落采矿法,水平浅孔落矿,炮孔直径40~42毫米,孔深1~1.5米,人工装填柱状硝铵炸药,导爆管起爆网路。
