国营前卫林场属人工林林场。目前该场已进入抚育间伐,主伐利用和部份林分改造阶段。在1982～1986年间,每年总采伐蓄积量为9230立方米。其中:经济材3790立米,占总采伐量的41％由国家统一调拨外,还有椽材700立米占8％亦属商品材,其余的4740立米占总采伐量的51％为采伐剩余物,亦称废材。
