在电化学中关于几个重要名词的译法,关于电极的符号,和液体接畛(junction)电势的加算,还有些不统一的地方。现在我们对这些意见不一致的项目作些建议。几个名词的译法在电化学中所常遇到的带电荷的两种微粒,我们的书籍中多称之为阳离子(Cation)和阴离子(anion)。将电强分为阴阳,这有点像用我国古时阴阳的观念去凑合科学的实事。在写这类带电微粒的化学符号时,我们都惯用正号+和负号-,并且这些微粒所带的电荷在西文中分别都被称为「正」电或「负」电,为甚么我们在记述这些微粒时就要用「阴」和「阳」来表示它们的电荷呢?在数学中我们说惯了正数和负数,我们从不说阴数和阳数。科学是有一致性的。在名词方面我们也要维持科学的一致性。所以我们建议不用「阴」「阳」两字,而用「正」「负」两字来区别电荷的种类。再有「离子」这个名词太短,在说话时容易和「粒子」等说法相混,我们建议可加一个字上去,可称为「离游子」,如是「离游作用」就可作为ioniza-tion 之译名。但是「离游」并不是「游离」,这可和
There are still some inconsistencies in the electrochemical translation of several important nouns, the addition of the sign of the electrode, and the junction potential of the liquid.
