Narcissism should be described as a relative solipsism in the creation of novels. Especially in the autobiographical novel works, it is often through the depiction of the innermost feelings and the emotional reveal of the characters to reflect the idealization of the characters themselves, The writer reveals the characterization and the characterization of the protagonist in the novel to demonstrate the perfect ideal and the ideal of the person. By analyzing the narcissism in Lawrence’s novel The Son and the Lover by using Lacan’s Mirror Theory, this essay simply analyzes the characters’ self-ideal, self-awareness, self-reliance and the self-recognition of spiritual release in the novel creation.
