这里讲的铜炉,常被人称「宣德炉」或「宣炉」,是流行于明清的文玩,在文物中自成不大不小的一类。现用铜炉一称,是因为明清不少朝代均有制造,不只是宣德。还有尽管传世文献记载宣德朝不惜工料,大量造炉,如《宣德鼎彝谱》,但现在竟难举出一件制作精美,和记载完全符合的标准器。据我所知,不仅北京、台北两地博物院尚未发现,著名藏炉家也没有。相反的倒是刻或铸有明清其他朝代年款的私家炉却有炉形铜质并臻佳妙
The copper stove here is often referred to as “Xuande Furnace” or “Xuan Furnace”. It is a type of popular play in the Ming and Qing dynasties.
