Objective: To investigate the relationship between the expression of p53 and bcl-2 in bone marrow cells and the prognosis of patients with acute leukemia. Methods: The expressions of p53 and bcl-2 in bone marrow cells of 42 patients with acute leukemia were detected by immunohistochemistry. The relationship between the expression of bcl-2 and the expression of bcl-2 in bone marrow cells of prognosis was analyzed. Ten patients with hematologic benign disease served as controls. Results: The overall expression levels of p53 and bcl-2 in 42 patients were significantly higher than those in the control group. Of the 27 patients with follow-up efficacy, patients with positive p5 3 and bcl-2 had a high rate of complete remission (CR) and high rates of p53 and bcl-2 negative CR rates. Conclusion: The detection of p5 3 and bcl-2 gene expression in bone marrow cells of patients with acute leukemia is helpful to predict the effect of chemotherapy.
