一、放射疗法的现状和进展视网膜母细胞瘤保存眼球的治疗方法最早是1903年美国的Hilgartner发表的X线外部照射。现在又采用了光凝、冷冻凝固和HPD光化学疗法。但是这些疗法只对直径在5mm以下的小肿瘤有效,并且对肿瘤周围的正常视网膜可产生不可逆的损害,对玻璃体内有转移的病例根本无效。目前,放射疗法存在的问题是放射性白内障,肿瘤复发率为40%,一旦复发再行照射,则发生放射性视网膜病变和放射性青光眼,有很高的失明率。为了解决这些问题,曾试用过很多方法。
