The market is increasingly internationalized. In the past few decades, as the automotive industry has become more international, the major UK car manufacturers have been acquired by foreign car companies. For example, after Rover was first acquired by BMW, the plants were sold one after another due to poor operations, and the Phoenix Group took over. In terms of output value, the total retail sales of the UK’s automobile and motorcycle industry in 1999 was approximately 62.5 billion pounds, of which 41.4% were sales of new cars and 31.2% were old cars. In terms of imports and exports, exports accounted for 19% of the highest in Germany, 12% in the United States, and 8.5% in Italy and France. In the automobile and motorcycle parts market, the total market value was approximately 15.48 billion pounds in 1999, which was higher than that in 1997.
