Recently, the IFAC series of meetings was held in Beijing. In an interview with IFRC, Warren Allen, president of IFAC, said he hoped more professional accountants will enter government departments to enhance the transparency and reliability of government financial management. Mr. Allen said that since the global financial crisis in 2008, the frequent occurrence of the sovereign debt crisis in Europe proves that some governments lack sufficient transparency and reliability to maintain the orderly development of the economy. Therefore, the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) is working with international agencies such as the G20, the IMF and the European Union to promote the public sector financial management reform including the government. It is expected that this series of reforms will generate a great demand for professional accounting talents.
