Reporter: What do you think they have awarded you the Pritzker Prize? Wang Hao: I understand that the first prerequisite and foundation for my winning this time is because these judges are all from Europe and the United States, and they judge good buildings. There is a basic standard. What’s even more interesting is that there is a saying in their comments that my work is “beyond cultural conflicts.” This is a very important sentence because we are all in the cultural conflict between tradition and modernity, East and West, etc., in the upper and lower levels, and in some conflicts such as strong and weak, these conflicts can be heatedly debated. But from the architectural point of view, are they possible to resolve in a more sensible way?
