方平主编和主译的《新莎士比亚集》(十二卷),即以诗体译莎士比亚诗剧的全集,由河北教育出版社出版,于2001年5月2日在石家庄举行了首发仪式。在此之前,台湾“猫头鹰出版社”已引进此书,并在2000年11月中旬在台北举行了发布会。这是中国莎学界和翻译界的一件大事,值得庆贺。翻译的第一原则是忠实,是反映原作的本来面目;尽量以诗译诗,这是译家所追求,天经地义的事。莎剧是16至17世纪时的英国舞台剧,包括多种文体,主要是素体诗(blank verse,或详素诗体、白体诗、无韵诗、素体韵文)和散文。这类似于汤显祖所著《牡丹亭》(1598年,和莎土比亚的《无事生非》创作于同年),主要包括两种文体,曲文(按南曲不同曲调唱的)和说白(散文)。但伊丽莎白一世时代英语的素体诗和明末中国文言的
The New Shakespeare Collection (12 volumes) compiled and translated by Fang Ping, the complete collection of poems by Shakespeare in poetry and translation, was published by Hebei Education Publishing House and was held on May 2, 2001 in Shijiazhuang. Prior to this, Taiwan Owl Publishing House had introduced this book and held a conference in Taipei in mid-November 2000. This is a major event for China’s Sharjah academics and translators, and it is worth celebrating. The first principle of translation is faithfulness and reflects the original features of the original works. As far as possible, poetry translation is the best way to translate poetry. Shakespeare was a British stage play from the 16th to the 17th centuries and consisted of a variety of genres, mainly the blank verse (or verse verse, white verse, non-rhyme verse, body verse) and prose. This is similar to the “Peony Pavilion” by Tang Xian-zu (1598 and “nothing else” of Shababi was created in the same year).
